Background Techniques from Soul Journaling Yahoo Group

I was recently talking to a friend about how I have trouble remembering things from just a few years ago. Because of our extreme reliance on our short-term memory, it is perfectly normal to forget things from the relatively distant past. With prompting, though, it is possible to recall these memories. That's why I've started journaling day-to-day life in addition to soul journaling (which is a deeper, more emotional process). I want to be able to remember little things about my current life many years from now.

Sarah Whitmire posted some background techniques on the Soul Journaling yahoo group that I decided to use for some of these daily journal pages. Here are a few:

I encourage you to join the yahoo group, download the technique file, and try some of these backgrounds yourself!

SJAT Week 2

It's about time I posted my Soul Journaling Advanced Techniques Week 2 assignment. I finished it about a month ago, but I'm pretty lazy about posting to my blog.

Week 2's assignment was to incorporate the photos from Week 1 into a killer journaling spread. Here is the first view of my journal pages:

...and a close-up of the right page:

Here is view 2 - getting a little more complex!

And here is view 3! From top to bottom, the spread measures about 33"!

Here's a close-up of part of the left page:
I had a ton of fun with this assignment. Although the Advanced Techniques class is over, I've still got about two weeks of assignments to catch up on! That's ok, though - it's something to look forward to!
